Real Madrid are back within three points of Barcelona at the top of La Liga after Kylian Mbappe scored twice in a 2-1 win at the Spotify Camp Nou, ending the leaders' run of nine straight league wins.
Mbappe opened the scoring in the 41st minute with a low finish from the centre of the box, and Barcelona drew level in the 61st when Raphinha met Pedri's pass after a corner with a left-footed shot from the right side of the area. With three minutes of normal time left, substitute Eduardo Camavinga led a fast break and set up Mbappe for the winner.
The numbers favoured Barcelona: 62 percent possession, 640 passes to 381 and 18 shots to 10. Andriy Lunin made five saves for the visitors, while Joan Garcia made three at the other end, all of them from Arda Guler.
Both sides lost a right-back to injury, Xavi Espart for Barcelona before the half hour and Federico Valverde for Real Madrid just after the equaliser. The finish was tense, with six yellow cards shown in the match, four of them in added time.
What it means: Barcelona stay top on 27 points, Real Madrid move up to 24, and a lead that looked comfortable this morning now rests on a single result.
