Ownership and Funding

Readers are entitled to know who stands behind the journalism they read and how it is paid for. This page sets out how The Saudi Times is funded and the boundaries we maintain between commercial activity and editorial judgement.

About the publication

The Saudi Times is a news publication covering Saudi Arabia’s economy, business, technology, culture and sport. It was founded in London in 2020 and is published from the United Kingdom, reporting daily in Arabic and English at thesauditimes.net, alongside The Saudi Times Magazine. Our operations are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

How we are funded

The Saudi Times is funded through a combination of revenue streams.

Advertising. We carry display advertising on our website. Advertisers have no access to, or influence over, editorial content, and no advance sight of stories.

Publishing. We produce The Saudi Times Magazine and related print and digital products. Details are available in our Media Kit.

Separation of commercial and editorial

Commercial relationships do not determine what we cover or how we cover it. Sponsors and advertisers cannot commission, approve, review or veto editorial articles. Where a story concerns a company with which we have a commercial relationship, that relationship is disclosed within the article.

Labelling of commercial content

Where we publish material that has been paid for or produced in partnership with a third party, it is clearly labelled and presented so that readers can distinguish it from independent newsroom reporting at a glance.
