Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Justice has launched the “Early Settlement” service through the Najiz platform, enabling beneficiaries to seek consensual solutions for financial claims through flexible settlement options, including reducing claim amounts, extending repayment periods and setting installment schedules.
Flexible Options for Financial Claims
The service allows entities to submit settlement requests within predefined rules and parameters, with settlement offers then delivered to beneficiaries through the Najiz platform.
Beneficiaries can respond to the proposed offer or submit alternative solutions within the approved options, with the process continuing until the parties reach an agreement.
The digital settlement pathway provides greater flexibility in addressing financial obligations while allowing different approaches to be considered based on the circumstances of each case and the beneficiary’s ability to meet repayment commitments.
Claim Reductions and Extended Repayment Periods
The Early Settlement service includes options to reduce the value of a financial claim, extend the repayment period and determine both the number and value of installments.
The flexibility is intended to accelerate the handling of financial claims and reduce procedural complexity, while increasing the likelihood of reaching consensual settlements between the parties.
The mechanism also gives parties greater room to agree on arrangements suited to the nature of the claim and the beneficiary’s financial circumstances, within the rules and options approved for the service.
Redesigning the Beneficiary Journey
The launch forms part of the Ministry of Justice’s broader efforts to develop digital judicial services and redesign the beneficiary journey to make procedures more accessible and efficient.
The ministry is also expanding its use of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence to improve procedural efficiency and provide digital solutions that better respond to beneficiaries’ needs.
The Early Settlement service reflects this approach by moving part of the financial claims resolution process into a digital environment where settlement options can be presented and negotiated electronically.
Artificial Intelligence to Recommend Tailored Solutions
The service is expected to be developed in phases to incorporate artificial intelligence technologies capable of analyzing claims and individual cases and recommending settlement options based on the nature of each case and approved rules and controls.
The development could enable more automated and tailored settlement options, potentially improving the chances of reaching agreements between parties while allowing financial claims to be handled with greater speed and flexibility.
The integration of artificial intelligence into the process represents another step in the Ministry of Justice’s efforts to use technology to enhance judicial services while keeping proposed solutions within established regulatory frameworks.
