RIYADH, The Absher platform run by the Ministry of Interior processed 49,118,832 electronic transactions for beneficiaries during August, combining activity across its Absher Individuals and Absher Businesses services.
Absher is the Ministry of Interior’s electronic platform, built around unified digital IDs that let citizens, residents, and visitors reach services offered by the ministry’s various sectors. Those digital IDs work across three linked platforms, Absher Individuals, Absher Business, and Absher Government, giving users a single entry point into a wide range of ministry functions. The same digital IDs also open access to other government and private entities through the National Unified Access Portal Nafath, extending their use well beyond the ministry itself.
Of the overall August total, the Absher Individuals platform alone handled 46,379,060 transactions. A large share of that activity, 37,117,035 views, came from people checking documents stored in the digital document wallet built into the Absher application, a feature available to citizens, residents, and visitors alike. The scale of that figure shows how central the digital wallet has become for everyday interactions with the platform.
The Absher Business platform, used by companies and institutions rather than individuals, recorded 2,739,772 transactions during the same month. Though far smaller than the Individuals platform in volume, it reflects steady reliance by the business sector on electronic processing rather than in-person paperwork.
Security-related transactions made up a significant portion of the month’s activity. The General Directorate of Public Security recorded 3,639,719 transactions in total. Within that figure, the General Directorate of Traffic accounted for 3,515,902 transactions, meaning traffic-related services represented the overwhelming majority of the directorate’s workload for the month.
Passport services also saw heavy use. The General Directorate of Passports processed 2,103,849 transactions during August, covering the range of passport-related services available electronically to the public. Separately, the Ministry of Interior’s Civil Affairs Agency, also referred to as the Civil Status Agency, handled 628,711 transactions in the same period.
Beyond the major categories, the Absher Individuals platform supported more specific public services. The Absher Reports service alone generated 128,321 reports issued through the platform during August. In addition, the platform processed 2,230 general inquiries related to fingerprinting, a smaller but notable category among the services offered directly to individuals.
Taken together, the figures for August point to a platform handling tens of millions of interactions each month across security, traffic, passport, and civil status functions, alongside general reporting and identification-related inquiries. The breakdown shows that while the Individuals platform carries the largest share of transactions by far, business users, traffic services, and passport processing each contribute meaningfully to the total volume recorded through Absher. The continued use of unified digital IDs across Absher Individuals, Absher Business, and Absher Government, as well as through Nafath, underlines how deeply electronic services have been integrated into routine dealings with the ministry’s various directorates.
The August figures reaffirm Absher’s role as the primary channel through which millions of transactions are completed each month, spanning public security, traffic, passports, and civil affairs, without requiring in-person visits to government offices.
