Saudi Arabia has reinforced its position in the global technology landscape by joining the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI), an initiative operating under the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). This move highlights the Kingdom’s growing influence as a key player in data and artificial intelligence.

The Kingdom is represented in the partnership by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), reflecting strong national commitment to advancing AI governance, development, and innovation on a global scale.

GPAI, originally launched by the G7, focuses on promoting the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence while strengthening international collaboration to bridge the gap between research and real-world applications.

The partnership brings together leading experts from governments, industry, academia, and civil society, positioning it as a global platform for shaping AI policies and standards.

Saudi Arabia’s membership enhances global confidence in its regulatory environment, while supporting the attraction of high-quality investments, global tech companies, and innovation-driven entrepreneurship. It also contributes to the localization of advanced technologies and the expansion of the digital economy, in line with Vision 2030 objectives.

Furthermore, the Kingdom’s participation enables it to play an active role in international dialogue, contribute to global AI frameworks, and exchange expertise with member nations.

Saudi Arabia continues to strengthen its leadership in AI through significant contributions to the OECD AI Policy Observatory, reflecting its commitment to building a trusted, transparent, and forward-looking AI ecosystem on a global level.
