A lighthearted moment involving Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Al Nassr, and his Portuguese compatriot Danilo Pereira, Al-Ittihad’s defender, attracted widespread attention during their Saudi Pro League clash.
The moment came during Saturday’s match, which Al-Ittihad won 2-1 to secure its third victory of the league campaign, while Al Nassr suffered its first defeat after five rounds.
Ronaldo Tries to Read Al-Ittihad’s Instructions
During the second half, Al-Ittihad head coach Jens Vissing sent a note containing tactical instructions to captain Danilo Pereira as he sought to communicate his directions to the players on the pitch.
As Pereira received the note, Ronaldo appeared to try to read what had been written on it, creating a humorous scene that quickly caught the attention of cameras and football fans.
Pereira then held up the note toward Ronaldo, with both players smiling during the exchange. The moment highlighted the friendly relationship between the two Portuguese internationals despite representing rival clubs in one of the league’s most competitive fixtures.

Al-Ittihad Claim Victory
The match itself was fiercely contested, with Al-Ittihad eventually securing a 2-1 victory and taking three valuable points against one of the league’s leading sides.
For Al Nassr, the result marked the team’s first defeat of the season after a strong opening run, adding further intrigue to the early stages of the Saudi Pro League campaign.
Fixtures between Al Nassr and Al-Ittihad have attracted significant attention in recent seasons, particularly because of the presence of several international stars. Ronaldo remains one of the league’s biggest attractions, while Pereira’s Portuguese connection with the Al Nassr captain added an extra dimension to the amusing moment during the match.
A Moment Beyond the Scoreline
While Al-Ittihad ultimately took the three points, Ronaldo’s attempt to get a glimpse of the coach’s instructions quickly became one of the most widely discussed moments from the game.
The spontaneous exchange offered a lighter side to an otherwise competitive encounter, particularly because it involved two players who share a connection through the Portugal national team despite being on opposite sides of the Saudi Pro League rivalry.
