Two goals, three points and a clean sheet. Al-Ittihad beat Al-Diriyah 2-0 on Friday 23 October at the Alinma Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City, Jeddah, in round 11 of the Roshn Saudi League. George Ilenikhena opened the scoring on 30 minutes, pouncing after goalkeeper Amin Bukhari could only push the ball into his path, and a VAR check confirmed the goal. It was the fifth league game in a row in which the Nigerian has had a hand in a goal.
After the break, Richard Ríos dropped into central defence in place of Saad Al-Mousa. Bukhari then brought down substitute Youssef En-Nesyri in the area, and Georginio Wijnaldum converted the penalty on 77 minutes for his first league goal in about five months.
The win lifts Al-Ittihad to fourth on 23 points, while Al-Hilal went top on 27 after winning 3-2 at Al-Qadsiah in the same round.
