How long does it take to settle a European away game? For Jonas Hofmann, two minutes. The Leverkusen midfielder struck on 35 and 37 minutes to give his side a 2-0 win at OFI Crete on Thursday, keeping the German club perfect in the Europa League with nine points and no goals conceded after three rounds.

Juventus could not hold on to an early lead against Rennes. Zeki Celik scored after five minutes, but Mousa Al-Tamari and a Boulaye Dia penalty turned the game around before Nick Woltemade levelled from the spot on 67 minutes for a 2-2 draw. Sunderland drew 1-1 at Lech Poznan, Sturm Graz beat Marseille 1-0, Ferencvaros won 4-1 against Torreense and AZ Alkmaar won 4-0 at Ararat-Armenia.

Bournemouth beat AC Milan 3-0, Real Sociedad thrashed Lillestrom 6-0 away from home, Benfica won 4-1 at Omonia Nicosia, and Besiktas drew 2-2 with Crystal Palace.
