Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has revealed details of the new multiple-entry Umrah visa, allowing eligible holders to enter the Kingdom several times during its 365-day validity period.
The visa permits a cumulative stay of up to 90 days throughout its validity, offering pilgrims greater flexibility in planning multiple visits and performing Umrah. However, the visa will not be activated for entry during the Hajj season.
Up to 90 Days of Cumulative Stay
According to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the permitted stay is calculated cumulatively from a total allowance of 90 days.
The number of days spent in Saudi Arabia during each visit is deducted from the overall allowance, enabling visa holders to distribute their available stay across multiple trips during the visa’s one-year validity period.
A Service Package Required for Each Visit
To use the multiple-entry Umrah visa, travelers must purchase a service package from an approved provider within the Nusuk ecosystem for each visit.
The duration of each package must not exceed the visa holder’s remaining permitted stay and must comply with the regulations governing programs and services provided to Umrah pilgrims.
Umrah Permit Through Nusuk Required Before Arrival
Travelers must obtain an Umrah permit through the Nusuk application before arriving in the Kingdom.
The permit date must align with the dates of the approved service package, while travelers must also meet all applicable eligibility and entry requirements.
How the First Visit Works
For the first visit, travelers begin by purchasing a service package from an approved provider available through the Nusuk ecosystem.
They then submit their visa application, which is processed by the relevant authorities. Travel eligibility is verified before departure, while entry details are recorded upon arrival and updated when the traveler leaves Saudi Arabia.
The remaining number of permitted stay days is then recalculated accordingly.
Requirements for Subsequent Visits
For subsequent trips, visa holders must purchase a new package from an approved service provider and obtain a new Umrah permit through the Nusuk application.
Entry requirements and travel eligibility are then verified before arrival, while entry and departure records are updated to reflect the remaining cumulative stay allowance.
Visa Reactivated for Each New Visit
The Ministry explained that the visa’s active status is suspended following each departure from Saudi Arabia.
It can then be reactivated for a subsequent visit once the traveler fulfills the required regulatory conditions.
Visa Not Activated During Hajj Season
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah emphasized that the multiple-entry Umrah visa will not be activated for entry during the Hajj season, specifically from the first day of Dhul Qadah through the 13th day of Dhul Hijjah.
The new visa system is designed to provide greater flexibility for international pilgrims seeking to make multiple visits to the Kingdom while ensuring that each trip complies with the approved regulatory, service and permit requirements.
