The Kingdom reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening international cooperation in the space sector and promoting the peaceful and sustainable use of outer space during the 69th session of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, held in Vienna from June 10 to 18.
The Kingdom participated through a joint delegation representing the Communications, Space and Technology Commission and the Saudi Space Agency.

The participation reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to expanding its international role in the space sector and contributing to global efforts aimed at advancing peaceful space technologies.

The meeting also reviewed reports issued by the committee’s scientific, technical, and legal subcommittees.

The Saudi delegation presented the Kingdom’s latest achievements in the space sector, including major legislative and regulatory developments supporting sector growth.
These included the Space Law project, implementing regulations, and regulatory frameworks designed to create a strong legal environment that supports investment and innovation.
Proposal to Improve Committee Efficiency
The Saudi delegation also introduced a proposal aimed at enhancing the committee’s working mechanisms and improving operational efficiency.
This step reflects the Kingdom’s growing role in shaping international space policy and strengthening its position as an emerging leader in the global space sector.
