LaLiga on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, called off FC Andorra's home game against RCD Mallorca in the second division, hours after Granada against CD Tenerife was also postponed. Both fixtures belong to matchday 13 of LaLiga Hypermotion, and both were postponed for the same reason. Tenerife striker Jesús de Miguel died on Tuesday, 3 November, from an injury he suffered in his side's match against Andorra at the Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López on Monday night.

By midday Wednesday, the official postponements were:

  • Granada v Tenerife, due on Saturday, 7 November at the Nuevo Los Cármenes, put back by LaLiga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) at Tenerife's request, with a new date still to be set.
  • Andorra v Mallorca, due on Sunday, 8 November, after LaLiga accepted Andorra's request; Mallorca said it understood and respected the decision.
  • The first round of the Copa del Rey and the third round of the Copa de la Reina, with the RFEF suspending its competitions on 3, 4 and 5 November as a mark of respect and solidarity and promising new dates soon.
  • The official launch event in Almendralejo for Spain's under-21 match against Japan, cancelled by the federation on Tuesday.

The players' union AFE has formally asked LaLiga and the RFEF to halt all national men's and women's competitions this weekend, and neither body had answered by midday Wednesday. De Miguel joined Tenerife in July 2025 and his goals helped the club win promotion back to the second division at the first attempt. The club will hold a farewell for him at its stadium on Saturday evening.
