Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the United States, Princess Reema bint Bandar, held a virtual meeting with the Saudi team participating in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix, Arizona, as part of ongoing efforts to support and encourage Saudi students representing the Kingdom at one of the world’s largest scientific innovation platforms for pre-university students.
The fair is considered the world’s leading international forum for school-level scientific research and innovation, bringing together more than 1,700 students from nearly 70 countries competing across 22 scientific disciplines under the evaluation of more than 1,200 international judges and experts.
During the meeting, Princess Reema emphasized that Saudi students serve as ambassadors of the Kingdom at this global event, highlighting the importance of demonstrating scientific excellence while reflecting Saudi values, culture, and national identity.
The Saudi delegation includes 40 students and observers from gifted education programs participating in multiple scientific fields through advanced research and innovation projects.
Throughout the fair, students presented their projects to sponsors and international media representatives while discussing their research with scientists, specialists, and innovation stakeholders from around the world.
The Saudi team also participated in cultural exchange activities that included the exchange of flags, pins, and gifts with students from other countries, creating an atmosphere of international interaction and cross-cultural engagement.
Students expressed pride in representing Saudi Arabia at the world’s largest pre-university science fair, noting that such experiences help strengthen global connections while enriching their scientific and cultural knowledge.
The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “Mawhiba,” in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, has participated in the competition annually since 2007, with Saudi students winning a total of 185 awards, including 124 grand awards and 61 special awards.
