Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, participated in a high-level experts group meeting at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, where discussions focused on dialogue, coexistence, and issues affecting Muslim communities worldwide.

The participation formed part of a visit to the United Kingdom that included meetings with Islamic religious leaders and business figures from across the country.

Discussions with Religious and Business Leaders

During the visit, Al-Issa met with Muslim religious leaders and business representatives to discuss key concerns facing Muslim communities living in non-Muslim countries.

The discussions highlighted the importance of strengthening positive community engagement, citizenship values, and social cohesion while encouraging constructive participation in wider society.

Participants praised the Muslim World League’s international efforts to counter extremist ideologies, promote moderation, and clarify the true message of Islam.

Dialogue as a Tool for Preventive Peace

In his keynote address at the opening of the experts group meeting, Al-Issa emphasized the importance of dialogue as a means of building understanding between cultures and communities.

He stressed that meaningful dialogue contributes to achieving “preventive peace,” an approach aimed at addressing tensions and disagreements before they develop into larger conflicts.

According to Al-Issa, strengthening dialogue and communication remains essential for promoting global stability, mutual respect, and international cooperation.

Recognition of the Muslim World League’s Global Role

Attendees expressed appreciation for the Muslim World League’s initiatives and its contributions to promoting tolerance, coexistence, and intercultural understanding.

They noted that the organization’s efforts have helped present a more accurate understanding of Islam while reinforcing values of peace, moderation, and mutual respect around the world.
