L’Oreal Expands in Saudi Arabia with New Investments in Women Empowerment and Sustainability

L’Oreal has announced major expansion plans in Saudi Arabia, marked by the opening of a new office in Jeddah as part of its long-term commitment to the Kingdom’s rapidly growing beauty market.

The announcement was made during the second edition of the “L’Oreal For The Future” summit, which focused on sustainability, women’s empowerment, and the future of the beauty industry in Saudi Arabia.

Rapid Expansion in the Saudi Market

Laurent Duffier stated that the company plans to double its workforce in Saudi Arabia by the end of 2026.

He noted that the Middle East became the company’s fifth-largest contributor to global growth, with Saudi Arabia serving as a key growth engine due to its economic expansion, rising middle class, and increasing female workforce participation.

Empowering Women Through Education

L’Oreal also announced the launch of its fifth professional hairdressing academy at its new Jeddah headquarters.

The initiative was developed in partnership with:

  • Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University
  • Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University
  • Effat University

The program aims to prepare Saudi women for careers in the beauty industry and address the growing demand for skilled professionals.

So far, the company has certified 150 women over the past two years, with 70% securing employment immediately after graduation.

Economic Impact and Job Creation

According to the company’s internal research, L’Oreal’s value chain contributes approximately SAR 3.2 billion to the Saudi economy and supports more than 8,700 jobs across the Kingdom.

Its educational and social initiatives have also benefited more than 35,000 individuals.

Sustainability and Refillable Products

Sustainability remains a core part of L’Oreal’s strategy, with the company expanding its refillable product campaigns through the “Join the Refill Movement” initiative.

The company emphasized that refillable products help reduce waste while offering both environmental and economic benefits for consumers.

L’Oreal also continues to maintain its AAA rating from CDP for the tenth consecutive year, highlighting its long-term environmental commitment.

Supporting Vision 2030

L’Oreal stated that its investments align closely with Saudi Vision 2030 goals, particularly in:
