Shoppers in Al Khobar get their first look inside Al Shubaili Grand Mall at 4 pm on Thursday, 29 October. Eng. Saud bin Khalid Al Shubaili, chief executive of developer Arabian Al Essar, said the mall is starting a trial period in which shops and facilities open in stages, with the date of a full official opening ceremony to be set later and planned for 2027.

Families will find cinemas, go-kart tracks, children's play areas and arcade games. The Valley zone gathers international restaurants, De L'Avenue is given over to fashion and global labels, some of them opening their first branch in the region, and The Promenade looks out over the waterfront.

Figures the developer released in 2024 put the site at 331,000 square metres, with more than 130,000 square metres of leasable space, over 300 shops, 100 restaurants and cafes and 3,000 parking spaces, all in a design inspired by Andalusian architecture. The company expects the project to create more than 5,000 jobs, and leasing had passed 84% by June this year.
