Can a forward shape a comeback without scoring or assisting? Mohamed Salah showed how on Monday night, 26 October, at the Caykur Didi Stadium. Trabzonspor were 2-0 down at half-time to Rizespor and won 4-3 in round nine of the Turkish Super Lig, and when the Egyptian was replaced by Noah Saviolo in the 86th minute, Trabzonspor supporters applauded him off. He waved back, then joined the celebrations at the final whistle.
Gennaro Borrelli had put the hosts two up with goals in the 12th and 32nd minutes. Trabzonspor turned it round in eight second-half minutes through Melih Kabasakal (49), Aral Simsir (51) and Franculino Dju (57). Qazim Laci levelled at 3-3 in the 68th minute before Dju settled it with his second goal in the 84th, according to Turkish outlet T24.
Salah's influence came earlier in the build-up. His passes to team-mate Muci started both the first goal, which Muci laid on for Kabasakal, and the third, when Muci's shot came back off the goalkeeper for Dju. Sofascore recorded 49 touches and 21 accurate passes from 27 for him. The win lifted Trabzonspor to 19 points and second place for now, while Rizespor stayed on 10 points in 13th.
