Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Mousa From Al-Beer to the Esteemed Sheikh of Lands

Recently, the first edition of the book Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Mousa: Abu Al-Masakeen was published.

Written by Mousa bin Abdulaziz Al-Mousa, the book chronicles the inspiring journey of one of Saudi Arabia’s most renowned businessmen, from his humble beginnings to his passing.

In the book’s introduction, the author explains the motivation behind writing it, saying:
“During my father’s lifetime, I worked hard to convince him to document his journey.

However, he firmly refused, whether it was about his personal life, business success, or his charitable work.

He often said, ‘Charity is for the sake of Allah; I seek only His reward and do not want recognition.

As for my personal story, who am I to write a book about myself or share my biography with the media?’”

Despite his father’s reluctance, the author believed that his story could serve as a beacon for younger generations, inspiring them to pursue success while upholding ethical values, integrity, and generosity.

A Life of Service and Integrity

The book offers only a glimpse into Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Mousa’s extensive life journey.

The author highlights his father’s contributions in business, philanthropy, and community service, portraying him as a man known for his honesty, humility, and unwavering support for those in need.

The introduction also reveals that the book is the beginning of a series, with plans to publish future editions in different languages to share Sheikh Abdulaziz’s legacy with a wider audience.

A Legacy of Trust and Respect

The book includes statements from prominent Saudi figures about Sheikh Abdulaziz’s integrity. A powerful quote from King Fahd bin Abdulaziz is included:
“If I had more people like Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Mousa, I wouldn’t need a court system.”

Similarly, King Salman bin Abdulaziz praised him, saying:
“Throughout my tenure as the Governor of Riyadh, I never received a single complaint against Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Mousa, despite real estate often being a contentious field.

No one ever accused him of dishonesty or violating their rights.”

Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, former Minister of the National Guard, also spoke of Sheikh Abdulaziz’s generosity and unwavering commitment to his community.

From Humble Beginnings to Real Estate Leadership

Born and raised in the town of Al-Beer, Sheikh Abdulaziz came from a modest background. His family was neither wealthy nor privileged; they lived like most people in Najd, where resources were scarce, and economic opportunities were limited.

Starting his career at the young age of ten, Sheikh Abdulaziz took on various jobs in his hometown. However, recognizing the need for greater opportunities, he made the bold decision to leave Al-Beer and move to Riyadh in search of a better future for himself and his family.

Hard Work and Determination

Sheikh Abdulaziz’s journey in Riyadh was far from easy. He began working in construction for a meager wage of half a riyal per day. He endured long hours of labor, developing his skills and learning from his mistakes.

Speaking about those early years, he once said:
“I never took shortcuts to success. I relied on hard work, persistence, and learning from my failures.

I started as an ordinary laborer, worked my way up to a construction supervisor, then ventured into trading in traditional houses before entering the real estate sector.”

Earning the Title of “Sheikh of Lands”

As Sheikh Abdulaziz expanded his real estate business, his reputation for fairness and integrity grew. Even the Saudi government turned to him for land valuations and property-related matters.

King Fahd, who had a long-standing relationship with Sheikh Abdulaziz dating back to his time as Minister of the Interior, deeply respected him. Throughout the years, he remained a trusted figure in the real estate industry, earning the honorary title “Sheikh of Lands.”

A Heart for Giving

Sheikh Abdulaziz was not just a businessman—he was a philanthropist.

He actively supported widows, orphans, and low-income families, inviting them to invest with him and ensuring they reaped financial benefits. The book details his numerous charitable endeavors and the countless lives he touched.

Dr. Salman bin Fahd Al-Ouda, a well-known Islamic scholar, once said:
“Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Mousa was a role model for all traders.

He was not a scholar or a public speaker, but he was an honest and generous businessman. Unlike many who become consumed by wealth, he remained humble, always seeking to uplift those around him.”

A Man of Patience and Wisdom

Sheikh Mohammed Al-Othman Al-Rasheed shared his admiration for Sheikh Abdulaziz and his brother Saeed, noting:
“They were both incredibly patient and composed.

Wealth never changed them; they remained content with little, even as they gained more. Their brotherly bond was rare and inspiring.”

A Life of Giving Until the End

Sheikh Abdulaziz continued his philanthropic efforts until his final days.

He suffered from a rare illness and passed away on March 12, 2013.
