The court urged anyone who sights the crescent moon, either with the naked eye or through binoculars, to report the sighting to the nearest court or contact the nearest official observation center to complete the necessary procedures.
At the same time, Saudi Grand Mufti Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan encouraged Muslims to increase acts of worship and good deeds during the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, describing them as among the most beloved and virtuous days in Islam.
He emphasized the importance of prayer, charity, fasting, remembrance of Allah, and Quran recitation during this spiritually significant period, especially with the arrival of Hajj season and Eid Al-Adha.
Al-Fawzan also highlighted the great reward of fasting on the Day of Arafah for non-pilgrims, noting that it expiates the sins of the previous and upcoming year according to authentic Islamic teachings.
In addition, he reminded Muslims intending to offer the Udhiyah sacrifice to refrain from cutting their hair, nails, or skin from the beginning of Dhul Hijjah until the sacrifice is completed, in accordance with Prophetic tradition.
Muslims in Saudi Arabia and across the Islamic world are now awaiting the official moon sighting announcement to confirm the beginning of Dhul Hijjah, one of the holiest and most spiritually significant months in the Islamic calendar.
