Princess Reema bint Bandar met with the Saudi delegation participating in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair 2026 ahead of the start of one of the world’s largest science competitions for students.

The Saudi team includes 42 students presenting innovative projects across a variety of scientific and emerging technology fields, reflecting the rapid progress of education and scientific research in Saudi Arabia.

The students qualified through Ibdaa 2026, the annual national competition organized by Mawhiba in partnership with the Ministry of Education to discover and support talented young innovators.

During the meeting, Princess Reema expressed pride in the Saudi students and praised the level of creativity and ambition reflected in their projects, highlighting the growing international presence of Saudi talent in scientific competitions.

This year’s exhibition runs from May 9 to May 15 and features more than 1,700 students representing around 70 countries, making it one of the most prestigious global platforms for young innovators and researchers.

Since Saudi Arabia first joined ISEF in 2007, Saudi students have earned 185 international awards, including 124 grand prizes and 61 special awards, showcasing the Kingdom’s ongoing investment in science, innovation, and gifted education.

The Kingdom also achieved its strongest performance in the competition last year after ranking second globally in the number of grand prizes won, behind only the United States.
