Saudi Arabia is accelerating its transformation into a technology producer by investing in local talent and building a robust domestic digital ecosystem, marking a strategic shift away from reliance on external consumption toward innovation-driven growth.
In this context, NextEra has officially launched its headquarters in King Abdullah Financial District, as part of a strategic partnership between Aramco Digital and LTIMindtree.
The company aims to bridge global expertise with local capabilities, delivering advanced digital solutions across key sectors in the Kingdom while strengthening national competencies in technology and innovation.
During the launch, NextEra emphasized its long-term commitment to localizing digital technologies by investing in Saudi talent, fostering innovation, and supporting the development of a knowledge-based digital economy.
Nabil Al-Nuaim, CEO of Aramco Digital, highlighted that nurturing local talent is a cornerstone of NextEra’s strategy, pointing to universities as critical sources of skilled human capital capable of driving the Kingdom’s digital ambitions.
He also stressed the importance of positioning technology centers close to academic institutions, enabling better access to emerging talent, enhancing innovation pipelines, and improving cost efficiency.
Al-Nuaim further noted that such initiatives would not only create jobs but also inspire entrepreneurship, with the expectation that professionals trained within companies like NextEra will go on to establish their own ventures, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s shift from a technology consumer to a producer.
On the topic of digital sovereignty, he emphasized that managing data, building digital platforms, and operating AI systems in compliance with national regulations should be led by local talent to ensure security and independence.
Dina Abo-Onoq, CEO of NextEra, echoed these goals, stating that the company is focused on transferring global knowledge into the Saudi market by hiring fresh graduates as well as experienced professionals, thereby transforming expertise into locally developed digital solutions.
She also outlined the sectors prioritized by the company, including government and giga-projects, followed by banking and insurance, oil and gas, and the entertainment and tourism industries.
As Saudi Arabia’s digital ecosystem continues to evolve, the launch of NextEra represents a significant milestone, highlighting the Kingdom’s growing ability to leverage local talent to drive innovation, enhance security, and support key industries.
This progress aligns closely with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to build a diversified, sustainable, and technology-driven economy.
