Makkah is witnessing a major transformation in Hajj services through the integration of artificial intelligence, aimed at improving the experience of pilgrims and enhancing operational efficiency within the Grand Mosque.

Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, President of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, stated that the upcoming Hajj operational plan represents a significant leap in religious services by utilizing advanced technologies to enrich the spiritual journey of pilgrims.

The plan includes over 150 specialized initiatives designed to elevate service quality and expand accessibility globally through a digital ecosystem supporting more than 60 languages, ensuring effective communication with pilgrims from diverse backgrounds.

As part of efforts to optimize crowd management in Makkah, authorities have introduced an advanced digital service that provides real-time monitoring of crowd density in the Tawaf and Sa’i areas. Using simplified visual indicators, the system helps pilgrims choose the best times and routes to perform rituals smoothly.

This service relies on real-time data analysis and AI technologies to improve crowd distribution, reduce congestion, and enhance safety—especially during peak periods.

These advancements reflect Saudi Arabia’s commitment to leveraging technology in serving pilgrims and reinforcing Makkah’s position as a globally leading spiritual destination supported by cutting-edge innovation.
