Al-Fateh head coach José Gomes emphasized the difficulty of the upcoming match against Al-Shabab in Round 30 of the Saudi Pro League, highlighting the importance of securing all three points at this critical stage of the season.

Gomes described Al-Shabab’s recent loss in the Gulf final as a “double-edged sword,” noting that it could either negatively affect the team or serve as strong motivation for a powerful comeback—something his side must be prepared for.

He added that the match will be highly challenging, stressing that his players will enter with strong determination and a clear objective to win and improve their league standing.

Regarding squad updates, Gomes explained that Naif Masoud’s absence in the previous match was due to medical reasons. The player has since returned to training and will participate with the U21 team as part of his gradual recovery plan.

Gomes also praised Al-Shabab’s recent improvement under coach Noureddine Zekri, noting the team’s enhanced balance in both attack and defense, which adds to the difficulty of the encounter.

He concluded by reaffirming Al-Fateh’s readiness for the match, aiming to deliver a strong performance aligned with the club’s ambitions in the league.
