Bayern Munich Concerned After Ismael Saibari Injury During Morocco’s World Cup Clash

German media reports revealed growing concern inside Bayern Munich and the Morocco national team following the injury suffered by Ismael Saibari during Morocco’s Round of 16 clash against Canada in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to German newspaper Bild, Saibari suffered a significant injury after experiencing pain in his right hamstring following a challenge with Canada’s Moise Bombito.

Injury Raises Major Concern

Reports stated that the 25-year-old initially tried to continue playing despite discomfort, but his condition quickly worsened.

He was seen repeatedly holding the injured area before eventually being unable to continue.

Morocco’s coaching staff decided to substitute him, bringing on Sofiane Rahimi, while Saibari headed directly to the dressing room for further medical evaluation.

The incident raised immediate concerns within Morocco’s camp due to the player’s importance to the squad.

Fear of Long Absence

No official medical diagnosis has been announced yet, but early reports suggest fears of a muscle tear or another serious injury that could end his World Cup campaign.

Such an absence would represent a major setback for Morocco as the team continues its pursuit of a deep run in the tournament.

Bayern Munich Monitoring Situation Closely

Concern also extends to Bayern Munich, which recently signed Saibari in a major transfer from Dutch club PSV Eindhoven.

According to reports, the transfer fee was around €50 million, with the player signing a contract until 2031.

Any long-term injury would therefore be a significant concern for the German club as well.

Both Moroccan fans and Bayern Munich officials are now awaiting the final medical assessment to determine the severity of the injury and the expected recovery timeline.
