Al Hilal kept its Saudi Pro League title hopes alive after securing an important 2-0 victory over Neom on Saturday in one of the decisive matches of the penultimate round of the season.
The result delayed the official title decision until the final round, as attention now turns toward the crucial clash between league leaders Al Nassr and Damac.
Al Hilal entered the match determined to maintain pressure on the top spot and quickly took control of the game. Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves opened the scoring early from the penalty spot in the ninth minute, giving the hosts a strong start.
The Riyadh side continued to dominate possession and attacking play throughout the second half before Sultan Mandash added a second goal in the 57th minute to secure all three points for Al Hilal.
With the victory, Al Hilal raised its tally to 81 points in second place, reducing the gap with leaders Al Nassr to just two points ahead of the final round of the Saudi Pro League season.
Al Hilal will now face Al Fayha in the last round, while Al Nassr prepares for a decisive encounter against Damac in a match that could officially determine the league champion.
The latest win reflects Al Hilal’s strong form in recent weeks as the team continues to apply pressure at the top of the table and maintain momentum heading into the final stage of the title race.
Neom, meanwhile, struggled to keep up with Al Hilal’s attacking intensity despite attempts to produce a positive result against one of the league’s strongest sides this season.
Saudi football fans are now eagerly awaiting the final round, with the title race between Al Hilal and Al Nassr set to deliver a dramatic conclusion to one of the most competitive Saudi league seasons in recent years.
