Saudi authorities have enabled the issuance of entry permits to Makkah during the Hajj season through the “Absher Individuals” platform, as part of efforts to streamline procedures and enhance digital crowd management.

The service allows several eligible categories to apply for entry permits electronically, including premium residency holders, investors, GCC citizens, Saudi mothers of non-Saudis, non-Saudi family members, and domestic workers, all through a simplified and efficient process.

This comes alongside the enforcement of regulations prohibiting residents from entering Makkah without an official permit, as part of the organizational measures for Hajj 1447H. Entry to the holy city and pilgrimage sites is restricted to those holding valid Hajj permits, official work permits, or residency IDs issued in Makkah.

Public Security confirmed that permits are issued electronically via the “Absher Individuals” platform and the “Muqeem” portal, integrated with the unified digital platform “Tasreeh,” ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

The General Directorate of Passports also announced that applications for entry permits for working residents are now processed electronic, eliminating the need for in-person visits, in line with Saudi Arabia’s ongoing digital transformation.
