Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, has revealed plans for a major sports event set to take place in Egypt next year, describing it as one of the biggest sporting events the country has witnessed in the past century.
Speaking during a television interview, Al-Sheikhsaid that Egypt holds a special place for him, while confirming that an agreement has been finalized between Egyptian businessman Hisham Talaat Moustafa and Saudi-based Sela, a company owned by the Public Investment Fund, to deliver what he described as a major surprise for Egypt and sports fans alike.
He explained that the upcoming initiative will include hosting several large-scale sporting events in Egypt, noting that preparations are currently underway to secure all required approvals before officially unveiling the full details in the near future.
Turki Al-Sheikhalso expressed his appreciation to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Egyptian government for their support and cooperation, emphasizing that the project will be “unbelievable and astonishing.”
In a related development, Sela signed a strategic agreement with Talaat Moustafa Group to establish a partnership focused on creating and managing entertainment experiences and large-scale events in Egypt, in the presence of Turki Al-Sheikh.
Meanwhile, Dr. Rakan Al-Harthi stated that the partnership represents a new milestone in strengthening Sela’s international presence, adding that the company aims to redefine entertainment experiences through innovative destinations, live events, and immersive content capable of creating a lasting impact beyond the event itself.
