French left-back Théo Hernández has expressed his excitement about joining Al Hilal, praising the rapid development of football in Saudi Arabia and affirming that his club is ready to challenge Europe’s elite teams.
In his first interview since signing a three-year deal from AC Milan, Hernández stated: “Saudi football has developed significantly. There are many quality players here. I believe this is the beginning of a new phase in my career, and I’m very happy to be here.” He highlighted Al Hilal’s impressive performance at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, saying the team demonstrated that it can compete with top European clubs.
Hernández also shared that he consulted former teammate João Cancelo before joining, noting: “The team is strong, full of great players; the atmosphere is positive, and the city is beautiful.” He emphasized: “I have big ambitions with this team. We have a fantastic group of players, and I came here to win and help achieve as many titles as possible.”
