The Transport General Authority has announced the upcoming launch of a self-driving taxi project in Riyadh,
aiming to enhance innovation and sustainability in the transportation sector.
This initiative is part of the autonomous transportation program, which seeks to integrate cutting-edge technologies into the transportation infrastructure,
contributing to improved quality of life and reduced traffic congestion.

Field trials for the project are expected to commence soon, focusing on ensuring the technology’s readiness before wider implementation.
Notably, the authority previously conducted trials of autonomous vehicles during the Hajj season,
utilizing them for delivery services within the holy sites, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to expanding smart transportation solutions.
