Six members of the same family were killed and four others were injured after their vehicle plunged down a steep mountainside along Al Ja’dah mountain road in Saudi Arabia’s Asir region.
The injured were transported to hospital for medical treatment, while authorities launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident.
Vehicle Fell Into a Rocky Slope
The accident occurred as the family was traveling along Al Ja’dah Pass, a mountainous road linking Balahmar with the Tihama region.
The vehicle reportedly overturned before falling into a steep rocky ravine, resulting in the deaths of six occupants at the scene and injuries to four others.
Challenging Mountain Terrain
Al Ja’dah Pass is one of the best-known mountain roads in the Asir region, rising more than 2,500 meters above sea level.
The route is characterized by sharp curves, steep descents, and periods of dense fog that can significantly reduce visibility despite ongoing infrastructure improvements.
Renewed Road Safety Reminder
The incident highlights the importance of exercising extreme caution while driving on mountain roads, adhering to speed limits, ensuring vehicles are in good mechanical condition, and following road safety instructions, particularly during periods of increased travel.
