In a heartfelt initiative reflecting deep environmental awareness and strong connection to the land, Saudi environmentalist Nasser Al-Almaie has established a unique eco-museum in the Asir region to safeguard the area’s rich natural and cultural heritage while raising public awareness about the importance of environmental conservation.
Located in the picturesque province of Rijal Almaa, the museum showcases an impressive collection of ecological artifacts and natural exhibits that highlight the biodiversity and native plant life of the Asir mountains.
It also features cultural items that illustrate the traditional lifestyle of the region’s communities over generations.

Driven by a personal passion for environmental protection, Al-Almaie collected and curated the exhibits himself, using sustainable materials and nature-friendly methods in the museum’s construction and layout.
The space includes educational displays and interactive models designed to engage children and visitors in eco-conscious learning.
The initiative has garnered attention from both the local community and government entities for its powerful message: reconnecting people with their natural surroundings and fostering a culture of environmental stewardship among future generations.
The Asir Eco-Museum stands as a valuable addition to the Kingdom’s sustainability efforts and embodies Saudi Arabia’s commitment to preserving natural resources and biodiversity, in alignment with the goals of Vision 2030.
