Saudi Cafes Gear Up for World Cup 2026 with Unique Fan Experiences
As the FIFA World Cup 2026 gets underway, cafes across Saudi Arabia are welcoming football fans with festive atmospheres and enhanced viewing experiences after weeks of preparation for the world’s biggest sporting event.

Despite the approximately 7.5-hour time difference between Saudi Arabia and the host countries, the United States, Mexico, and Canada, cafe owners remain optimistic about attracting large crowds for late-night and early-morning match screenings.

Special Preparations for Football Fans

Many cafes have upgraded their facilities by installing large high-definition screens and improving sound systems to deliver an immersive viewing experience.

Decorations featuring national flags of participating countries and football-themed banners have also been added to create an atmosphere that captures the excitement of the tournament.

Business owners hope the World Cup will drive increased customer traffic and boost revenues throughout the competition.

Competitions, Prizes, and Interactive Activities

Mayas Alsaygh, one of the operators of Hoot Coffee House in Jeddah, said preparations extend beyond simply showing matches.

The cafe plans to organize interactive quizzes, halftime competitions, and prize giveaways, along with prediction contests for match results and tournament outcomes, providing fans with additional entertainment throughout the event.

Extended operating hours have also been introduced to accommodate supporters watching matches that take place late at night due to time zone differences.

Enhanced Viewing Experiences Across the Kingdom

In Madinah, local cafe manager Abdulhadi Al-Ahmadi said his venue is fully prepared to welcome football enthusiasts with large-screen broadcasts, refreshments, and a vibrant atmosphere for matches that continue into the early hours.

These preparations reflect the widespread enthusiasm for the World Cup across Saudi Arabia, where cafes often become gathering points for fans during major international tournaments.

Football Brings Communities Together

The FIFA World Cup remains one of the most widely followed sporting events in the Kingdom, drawing large audiences to cafes, restaurants, and public viewing venues.

With the 2026 tournament now underway, Saudi cafes are aiming to deliver memorable experiences that combine football passion, hospitality, and social engagement, turning World Cup nights into shared celebrations for fans across the country.
