Saudi Arabia’s agricultural sector marked a new achievement as the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture announced that melon production exceeded 63,000 tonnes this season. This milestone reflects the Kingdom’s efforts to strengthen food security and diversify agricultural crops.

According to the ministry, melon cultivation has expanded across multiple regions of the Kingdom, benefiting from advanced irrigation and farming technologies that have improved quality and minimized waste.
This accomplishment aligns with Vision 2030 initiatives aimed at achieving self-sufficiency in key crops and increasing the agricultural sector’s contribution to the national GDP.
The ministry noted that local melon production meets a significant portion of domestic demand and creates opportunities for export, reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as an emerging agricultural hub in the region.
