Saudi Arabia has launched a pilot Tourism Package Visa, introducing a new travel service designed to simplify entry procedures and enhance the visitor experience as part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 tourism strategy.
The new service allows travelers to receive an electronic visa automatically after purchasing a complete travel package, eliminating the need to submit a separate visa application or visit a Saudi embassy.
Available to Citizens of Seven Countries
During the pilot phase, the Tourism Package Visa is available to citizens of:
- Egypt
- Jordan
- India
- Pakistan
- Indonesia
- Bangladesh
- Mexico
The Ministry of Tourism said the list of eligible countries will expand in future phases.
Electronic Visa Within 48 Hours
The visa is issued electronically within 48 hours after the travel package purchase is completed.
The total visa fee is approximately SAR 402.21, including visa issuance and travel insurance.
Each package includes airline tickets, accommodation at a licensed tourism facility, and the electronic visa as part of a single integrated booking process.
Valid for Up to Three Months
The visa remains valid for three months from the start of travel and permits a single entry into Saudi Arabia.
The Ministry also noted that once the travel package has been issued, it cannot be canceled. If the package is canceled, the associated visa is automatically canceled as well.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Tourism Package Visa, travelers must meet several conditions, including:
- A confirmed reservation at a licensed four-star hotel or higher.
- Confirmed round-trip airline tickets.
- A minimum package value of SAR 4,000 for the first two days for each adult traveler.
- An additional minimum of SAR 1,000 for every extra day beyond the initial two days.
- A package duration of at least two days and no more than 88 days.
Accommodation dates must also match the arrival and departure dates listed in the flight reservation.
Supporting Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Growth
Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb described the Tourism Package Visa as another step toward creating a smoother and more integrated travel experience for international visitors.
The initiative comes as Saudi Arabia continues expanding its tourism sector, which welcomed around 123 million visitors last year, reinforcing the Kingdom’s ambition to become one of the world’s leading tourism destinations under Vision 2030.
