The National Center for Waste Management has launched a nationwide campaign titled “Iltazem”, designed to enforce compliance with waste management regulations and ensure safe and responsible disposal practices that protect both the environment and public health.
To date, more than 15,000 inspection tours have been carried out, resulting in 3,526 warnings and 1,933 violations.
The most common offenses include unauthorized dumping, illegal burning, and transporting waste with unlicensed vehicles.

Strict penalties are being enforced, with fines reaching up to SR 10 million for severe violations such as uncontrolled burning or unsafe disposal of hazardous waste.
Other penalties include up to SR 100,000 for transporting waste without a license or abandoning construction debris, and up to SR 10,000 for illegal dumping in public areas.
The campaign will continue to intensify its inspection efforts in coordination with relevant authorities, aiming to instill a culture of accountability in waste management and curb harmful practices impacting the environment.
