Under the auspices of Reef Saudi, the Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program, the Lomi Hasawi Exhibition was officially launched in Al-Ahsa to celebrate the region’s long-standing lime cultivation heritage.
Held at the Al-Ahsa Chamber from August 21 to September 6, the exhibition showcases the local lime fruit—known as “Lomi Hasawi”—as an emblem of agricultural tradition and regional identity.
As a gold sponsor, Reef Saudi contributed SAR 342,000 to support 89 local farmers, which helped elevate lime production to over 122,400 tonnes—a significant boost to regional agricultural output.
The initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, emphasizing diversification of agricultural production, enhancement of operational efficiency, and advancement toward food self-sufficiency—demonstrating the Kingdom’s strategic commitment to empowering rural sectors and supporting local producers.
