Saudi Arabia Unveils Full Operational Readiness Plan for Ramadan at the Two Holy Mosques

Saudi Arabia has finalized a comprehensive operational plan to manage the expected influx of worshippers during Ramadan 1447H at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. The strategy encompasses crowd management, enhanced services, and advanced security measures designed to ensure a seamless experience for millions of pilgrims throughout the holy month.

Integrated Operations at the Grand Mosque

The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has mobilized thousands of personnel and deployed cutting-edge technology to maintain safety and comfort within the Grand Mosque. Crowd monitoring systems powered by artificial intelligence will track movement patterns in real time, enabling rapid response to congestion points and ensuring smooth circulation around the Kaaba and across the mosque’s expansive prayer areas.

Service enhancements include the distribution of millions of bottles of Zamzam water daily, expanded cooling systems to combat the seasonal heat, and additional translation services covering more than a dozen languages to assist international visitors. Medical teams have been stationed at strategic locations throughout the mosque and its surrounding plazas, equipped to handle emergencies around the clock.

The Prophet’s Mosque Prepares for Peak Attendance

In Madinah, authorities have implemented a parallel readiness plan at the Prophet’s Mosque, where attendance traditionally surges during the last ten days of Ramadan. Expanded prayer spaces, upgraded electronic guidance systems, and reinforced cleaning schedules are among the measures activated to accommodate the anticipated increase in worshippers.

Transportation infrastructure connecting key arrival points to the mosque has been bolstered with additional shuttle routes and enhanced pedestrian pathways, reducing wait times and improving accessibility for elderly visitors and families with children.

A National Commitment to Serving Pilgrims

The operational plan reflects Saudi Arabia’s longstanding commitment to serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors. As part of Vision 2030, the Kingdom has invested heavily in upgrading infrastructure at both sites, with ongoing expansion projects aimed at increasing capacity and elevating the overall experience for worshippers from around the world. The Ramadan preparations represent the latest chapter in this continuous effort to welcome guests of the Two Holy Mosques with the highest standards of hospitality and care.
