Saudi squash player Mohammed Al-Nisfan has added another international achievement to his growing record after winning the Hong Kong Asian Under-19 Youth and Junior Championship.
Al-Nisfan claimed the title after defeating Hong Kong player Wing Long 3-0 in the final, securing gold in one of the Asian Squash Federation’s Gold-level events. The tournament featured 320 players across the youth and junior categories.
The victory adds to an impressive run of international performances for the Saudi player. In July 2026, Al-Nisfan also reached the quarterfinals of the World Junior Squash Championships in Toronto, marking a historic achievement for Saudi squash.
Strong Saudi presence
Saudi Arabia also recorded promising results through Hamad bin Bakheet and Abdullah bin Bakheet, who made their international debuts at the tournament.
Hamad finished eighth in the Under-9 category, while Abdullah placed 18th in the Under-11 category, highlighting the growing depth of young squash talent in the Kingdom.
A rising international record
Al-Nisfan has continued to build an impressive record in 2026. In May, he won the Kingdom Open Squash Championship after defeating Al-Hilal player Kareem Badawi 3-1 in the final.
He also won the German International Junior and Youth Championship in February after beating Czech player Vojtech Martinovsky 3-1 in the Under-19 final.
The succession of international results reflects the growing development of squash in the Kingdom and continued efforts to identify, develop and prepare young Saudi players for continental and global competition.
