Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg attracted attention during the Allen & Company Sun Valley Conference after appearing with a rare vintage Patek Philippe timepiece dating back more than eight decades.

Estimated to be worth around $300,000, the watch is considered one of the most significant collector’s pieces in the history of luxury watchmaking.

A Landmark in Watchmaking History

The watch is the Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Ref. 1526J, first introduced in 1941 and widely recognized as the world’s first serially produced wristwatch featuring a perpetual calendar complication.

Only about 210 examples were produced, making it one of the rarest vintage Patek Philippe models ever made.

Timeless Design Meets Mechanical Innovation

Crafted in 18-karat yellow gold with a compact 34mm case, the watch combines understated elegance with an advanced perpetual calendar mechanism capable of automatically accounting for varying month lengths and leap years.

It also displays the day, month, date, moon phase, and small seconds, showcasing one of the most sophisticated mechanical complications in traditional watchmaking.

A Vintage Statement at a Technology Summit

Zuckerberg wore the historic timepiece while attending one of the world’s most influential gatherings of technology leaders, where discussions focused largely on artificial intelligence and the future of innovation.

The appearance highlighted a striking contrast between cutting-edge AI conversations and an 85-year-old mechanical masterpiece, further reinforcing Zuckerberg’s growing reputation as a collector of rare and historically significant luxury watches.
