The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) has announced the details of its second Children’s Festival 2026, reinforcing its role in delivering innovative cultural and educational experiences for children and families across Saudi Arabia.
This year’s festival features more than 73 activities, including interactive workshops, live performances, storytelling sessions, and creative exhibitions designed to spark curiosity and encourage learning through play.
The festival will run from July 6 to July 25, offering a rich experience that blends education, creativity, and entertainment.
Interactive Activities to Inspire Creativity
This year’s festival revolves around the theme of “home,” allowing children to explore the concept through immersive and hands-on experiences.
Activities include “The Art of Kinusaiga,” a workshop introducing families to traditional Japanese fabric crafting, and “A Home I Imagine,” where children transform their ideas of home into physical models.
The festival also features an interactive session called “Around the Table,” which explores how dining traditions reflect cultures from around the world.
Another workshop, “On This Carpet,” combines drawing and storytelling to encourage creative expression.
Development Programs for Youth and Families
In addition to children’s activities, Ithra will also host a four-week intensive Summer Youth Program for participants aged 13 to 16.
The program aims to introduce young people to the cultural sector while helping them build practical and life skills through mentorship and training.
The festival will also feature children’s authors and child development experts contributing to the educational experience.
Through this festival, Ithra continues to strengthen its position as a leading cultural destination that combines education, creativity, and entertainment while supporting the Kingdom’s broader cultural development goals.
