“You Can See Everything”, A24’s documentary about Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, was the surprise of the North American box office over the weekend of October 16 to 18, 2026. The film took an estimated $15 million from just 855 theaters, finishing second behind Paramount’s “Street Fighter”, which played in more than four times as many cinemas.

That works out to about $17,500 per theater,
roughly double the average of the weekend’s number one film. Industry tracking had expected an opening of $7 million to $12 million before release.
The documentary had already earned about $1.7 million from Thursday evening previews.

TheWrap reports it is the biggest opening for a documentary since “One Direction: This Is Us” took $15.8 million in 2013.
Excluding concert films, only Michael Moore’s “Fahrenheit 9/11” has opened higher, with about $23.9 million from 868 theaters in 2004.
Rotten Tomatoes ranks the weekend as the fourth best opening in A24’s history.

Lance Oppenheim and Nathan Fielder directed the film, which follows Holmes in the weeks before she reported to prison in 2023 to begin a sentence of more than 11 years for defrauding investors in Theranos, the blood testing company she founded. Running close to three hours, it was made largely out of public view and was first revealed at a surprise screening at the Telluride Film Festival.

A24 said more than 2,000 screenings had sold out by Sunday morning. TheWrap reported the film’s combined production and marketing budget was under $20 million.

All of the weekend figures are studio estimates. Final numbers are due on Monday.
