Paramount’s “Street Fighter”, the live action film based on Capcom’s long running video game series, opened at number one in North American cinemas over the weekend of October 16 to 18, 2026. It took an estimated $31 million from 3,575 theaters, according to studio figures published by Box Office Mojo. The film added about $20.1 million from international markets, giving it a global start of roughly $51.1 million.

Friday brought in $13 million, including about $4 million from Thursday evening previews. Saturday added $10.8 million, and Sunday brought $7.2 million. The result landed close to expectations: industry tracking after the previews had pointed to a domestic opening a little above $30 million.

Kitao Sakurai directed the film, which Legendary Pictures produced with Capcom and shot in Australia in 2025. Andrew Koji plays Ryu, Noah Centineo plays Ken Masters and Callina Liang plays Chun-Li, with Jason Momoa as Blanka,
David Dastmalchian as M. Bison and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog. The film premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on October 12.

Audiences polled by CinemaScore gave the film a B minus.
Critics were divided, with 42% of reviews counted by Rotten Tomatoes positive at the weekend.

Second place went to A24’s documentary “You Can See Everything”, which took an estimated $15 million from just 855 theaters. Blumhouse’s “Other Mommy”, the previous weekend’s leader, fell to third with about $8.3 million,
ahead of 20th Century Studios’ “Whalefall” with $8 million and Focus Features’ “Sense and Sensibility” with $7.25 million.

All of the weekend figures are studio estimates. Final numbers, which can move up or down, are normally published on Monday.
