Recently, Al-Namas hosted the International Sculpture Symposium under the theme “Linear Rhythms”, featuring ten prominent Arab sculptors dedicated to enriching the city’s visual identity.
Organized by the Municipality of Al-Namas with artistic direction by Saudi sculptor Mohammed Al-Thaqafi, the symposium turned public spaces into profound artistic statements, merging modernity with heritage.
Artists drew their inspiration from Al-Namas’s stunning landscape—where the peaks of the Sarawat Mountains meet undulating cloud lines.

Their creations, crafted from locally sourced stone, reflect this natural harmony through contemporary forms. The lineup included Saudi talents—Al-Thaqafi, Ali Al-Tokhais, and Ebtisam Saleh—alongside distinguished sculptors from Morocco, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Sudan, Tunisia, and Egypt.
These large-scale installations, now situated in parks and public areas, beautifully integrate modern creativity with Saudi heritage, awakening the cityscape with artistic energy.
Participants praised both the artistic exchange and Al-Namas’s breathtaking natural setting.
Al-Thaqafi expressed his vision for Al-Namas to become a regional hub for public art, hoping other Saudi cities would follow suit with similar initiatives.
