Al-Ittihad Club has officially announced the appointment of German coach Jens Vissing as head coach of the first football team on a contract running until the summer of 2028.

The appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter as the club prepares for the upcoming season with ambitions of competing for domestic and continental titles.

Rising Coaching Career

Vissing retired from professional football at an early age due to injuries before beginning his coaching career.

He previously served as assistant to Roger Schmidt at PSV Eindhoven and Benfica before taking charge of Japan’s Gamba Osaka, where he guided the club to the AFC Champions League Two title, earning recognition as one of Germany’s emerging coaches.

Vissing is expected to lead Al-Ittihad’s preseason training camp and begin implementing his tactical vision ahead of the new campaign.

The club hopes his international experience and coaching philosophy will strengthen the squad as it targets success in the Saudi Pro League and other competitions.
