Al-Ahsa Governor Inaugurates Direct Flights to Turkey’s Black Sea Region

In a move that reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to expanding international air connectivity and promoting tourism, Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, Governor of Al-Ahsa, officially launched direct flights from Al-Ahsa International Airport to Trabzon, a prominent tourist destination on Turkey’s Black Sea coast.

This new air route was introduced in collaboration with Saudia Airlines and several supporting agencies, as part of broader efforts to enhance air travel options and strengthen the international network of Al-Ahsa Airport, which continues to evolve with improved infrastructure and expanded services.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Prince Saud emphasized that the initiative responds to the growing travel demands of residents in the region and aligns with the Kingdom’s vision to support tourism and air transport development.

He also highlighted the route’s potential to benefit tourists, medical travelers, and students, while promoting cultural and commercial exchange between the Kingdom and Turkey.

The direct flights are scheduled to operate regularly during the summer season and are expected to attract increasing numbers of travelers seeking the scenic beauty and historical charm of Trabzon. The new connection also positions Al-Ahsa Airport as a rising regional hub for leisure and international travel.
