The Saudi Red Sea Authority has introduced new regulatory standards for beach operators along the Red Sea coast, aimed at enhancing service quality, strengthening safety measures, and protecting the coastal environment, in line with the Kingdom’s rapidly expanding marine tourism sector.
The standards focus on regulating daily beach operations, improving visitor experience, and ensuring compliance with environmental requirements, including marine ecosystem protection, beach cleanliness, and responsible management of recreational and marine activities. They also include clear requirements related to visitor safety, trained personnel, rescue equipment, and effective crowd management.
The move aims to establish a unified regulatory framework that balances tourism and investment growth with the preservation of the Red Sea’s unique natural resources, amid growing demand for coastal destinations and marine activities.
This initiative is part of the authority’s broader efforts to organize and elevate the coastal tourism sector, enhance competitiveness, and strengthen investor and visitor confidence, in line with national goals to promote sustainable tourism and position the Red Sea as a world-class destination.
