Saudi Arabia’s Vice Minister of Tourism emphasized that tourism has evolved beyond being merely an economic activity or leisure industry, positioning itself as a vital driver of sustainable development and inclusive social progress.
He explained that tourism in the Kingdom directly contributes to creating diverse job opportunities for both youth and women, while also fostering the inclusion of different segments of society in the labor market.
The sector further supports entrepreneurs and small- to medium-sized enterprises by opening new avenues for investment, thereby ensuring balanced economic growth.
Under Vision 2030, tourism has been placed at the core of efforts to diversify national income, with substantial investments in infrastructure, the development of cultural and heritage destinations, and hosting world-class events that showcase Saudi Arabia as a leading global destination.
The vice minister stressed that the impact of tourism extends far beyond economics, serving as a bridge for cultural understanding and human connection by enabling the exchange of experiences and traditions among people worldwide.
Looking ahead, he noted that future plans aim to make Saudi Arabia not only a hub for visitors but also a global model in demonstrating how tourism can be seamlessly linked to both social and economic sustainability.
