The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has called on all Muslims across the Kingdom to observe the crescent moon of Dhul Hijjah on the evening of Tuesday, 29 Dhul Qa’dah 1446 AH, corresponding to June 4, 2025, to determine the start of the Islamic month and the dates of Arafat Day and Eid Al-Adha.

The court encouraged those who spot the crescent—either with the naked eye or using telescopes—to report their sighting to the nearest court or contact the nearest authority that can assist in relaying their testimony, in line with the Kingdom’s community-based approach to Islamic observances.

This announcement reflects Saudi Arabia’s long-standing practice of crescent moon observation in accordance with Islamic tradition, particularly for months that mark significant religious events such as the Hajj pilgrimage.
