The prince died on Friday, July 19, 2025, at a specialized hospital in Riyadh after a long and courageous struggle. He had been in a deep coma for over 20 years, following a severe car accident in 2005 during his time as a cadet at the Royal Air Force College.

The funeral prayer will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025, after Asr prayer at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh.
Condolence gatherings for both men and women will be hosted over three days at the family’s palace in Al-Fakhriyah Province.
