Representatives from the Saudi Authority of Internal Auditors took part in the National Internal Audit Conference in Japan, joining leading international experts and professionals to strengthen global cooperation and exchange knowledge in areas of governance, transparency, oversight, and compliance.

The authority’s CEO, Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Shebeili, delivered a keynote speech stressing the importance of international collaboration in developing the profession. He highlighted Saudi Arabia’s commitment to internal auditing as a vital tool for advancing organizational performance and ensuring the highest standards of quality.

Al-Shebeili noted that initiatives such as “From Riyadh to the World” have significantly enhanced global professional networks with countries including China, Russia, Australia, Switzerland, Austria, and the US. These exchanges, he added, have driven the evolution of internal audit practices in line with modern technological advancements.

He also underlined the role of academic partnerships with top universities, including Harvard University in the US and Cambridge University in the UK, which have so far produced more than 200 graduates from the Internal Audit Leadership Program and 45 from the Governance, Risk, and Compliance Program.

According to Al-Shebeili, Saudi Arabia has become a global hub for advancing the internal auditing profession by improving quality standards, enhancing practitioner efficiency, and preparing new generations of leaders. The shared vision, he emphasized, is to build an “audit profession without borders” based on knowledge, cooperation, and innovation
