Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Sultan, the Saudi Ambassador to the United Kingdom, led the Kingdom’s delegation in a high-profile international maritime safety forum hosted in London by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
The discussions, attended by officials and experts from across the globe, focused on enhancing maritime safety and ensuring secure and open sea lanes amidst rising regional and global maritime security challenges.

In his address, Prince Khalid reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to global cooperation in safeguarding maritime routes and preserving freedom of navigation.
He highlighted the Kingdom’s strategic position along vital waterways such as the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf, underscoring its critical role in maintaining global supply chain stability.
The envoy also emphasized ongoing efforts under Saudi Vision 2030 to modernize port infrastructure, upgrade maritime fleet capabilities, and transform the Kingdom into a world-class logistics hub.
The forum attendees commended Saudi Arabia’s leadership and contributions to international maritime security initiatives, particularly in combating threats like cyberattacks and piracy, and in promoting a safer, more sustainable maritime environment for all.
